IMPORTANT DATES & DEADLINES
Monday, April 16, 2018: Entry Deadline by 5:00pm (MST)
Friday, April 27, 2018: Notifications sent by email
May 21 through May 25, 2018: Artwork due at Carbondale Arts
First Friday, June 1, 2018: Opening reception from 6-8pm (Awards announced!)
June 1 through June 29, 2018: Exhibition dates
June 30, 2018: Artwork pick up for local artists from 10am-2pm
July 2 & 3, 2018: Unsold artwork shipped to non-local artists
ENTRY FEE
$25 for 1 entry or $50 (total) for up to 5 entries. Fees are non-refundable and used to cover costs associated with marketing, display, signage and materials. Payable online at carbondalearts.com or cash/check to Carbondale Arts.
ELIGIBILITY, MEDIA & SIZE
Works must be original; no digital reproductions (except photography). All styles, media, and techniques accepted (no video at this time). Two-dimensional works may be a maximum of 16 square inches NOT including frame (ie: 4”x4”, 2”x8”, 3”x5”, etc) and a maximum of 64 cubic inches for three-dimensional works (ie: 4”x4”x4”, 2”x8”x4”, 3”x5”x4.25”, etc).
This exhibition is open to individual artists 18 years of age or older. Works within the past 2 to 3 years are preferred.
If your work requires special installation, please inquire before submitting your entry.
PRIZES
Juried Prizes:
$350 1st Place, $250 2nd Place, $150 3rd Place (invited artists not eligible for Juried Prizes)
People’s Choice Award:
$100 (open to all participating artists)
IMAGES
Send high resolution images (at least 1MB each) to brian@carbondalearts.com with your application on Monday, April 16, by 5:00pm (Mountain Standard Time). If your work is accepted for exhibition, the images you enter, as well as the text you provide, will be used for print & digital publicity.
COMMISSION, SALES & PAYMENTS
Artists retain 70% of sales, with 30% retained by Carbondale Arts. Though “NFS” works will be accepted, it is expected that all work exhibited should be for sale. Works may not be removed until the close of exhibition on Saturday, June 30, 2018. Checks for sold works will be sent no later than 30 days after the close of the show.
SHIPPING & INSURANCE
All shipping & shipping insurance costs to and from the R2 Gallery are the responsibility of the artist. Shipping instructions will be sent to accepted artists on payment of exhibition fee. Artwork will be insured in the R2 Gallery by Carbondale Arts during the duration of the exhibit.
